Millais was a child prodigy and after his time with the radical PRB, he eventually became famous for a painting called Bubbles which was used in a Pears Soap company for advertising. He also became the head of the Royal Academy of Art, the very group he and the PRB were protesting when they formed. His wife Effie, was married to art critic John Ruskin, but Millais wooed her away from her sexless marriage to Ruskin, and they went on to have eight children.
